Fifth Anniversary

September 4 the date when Anthony and I celebrate our anniversary. Today is our fifth year and with God's grace our relationship is getting stronger! For the celebration we had our dinner at Outback at Siam Discovery Center. So far this is the most expensive dinner we had here in Bangkok. Also, this is my first time to eat at Outback since in Manila I was intimidated and I thought I could not even afford the price.
Actually today we are celebrating for two reasons; our anniv and today Anthony was able to pass his exam having a Perfect Score!! Congrats again my honey! and thanks Anthony for the treat!! =)

By next month Anthony and I will have a double celebration. First, his birthday and second is our 5th year anniversary!How exciting isn't it? Though as of the moment we have no specific plan yet the way we are going to celebrate. We want to keep it simple but still it should be romantic..But as early as now we already had our gift presence for each other. Actually it's only one gift for both of us and which is PSP! Hehehe. Honestly I'm not a gamer person and it's very rare that I play anthony's Xbox. But this time when I try to play at PSP I find it enjoyable. Especially the game Bleach and Dragon Ball Z. In case anthony is playing PSP and I have nothing else to do. I play Need for Speed Carbon in Xbox.
It looks like I'm starting to appreciate playing games. =)

Nike shoes

In my entire life I could not buy a pair of nike shoes for myself. When I was in manila it was hard for me to buy my own rubber shoes. I cant imagine that sometimes I borrow my niece nike shoes. Ashame on me! Now I'm glad I have my own! I'm using it when going to the gym.
It feels great when I have something for myself despite that I need to save money but still I can find means to reward myself for working hard.
Anthony also bought an Air max 360 nike shoes. He has no choice to buy now because his reebok shoes already surrendered after 3 years.
Well we both deserve our new shoes!

changing lifestyle with fitness first

yipeee!! we are officially member of fitness first club here in bangkok. i never thought i'll be starting going to the gym as early as july. all i know is anthony wants to go back at gym and i think obviously he needs it.:P rather i say we both need it. hopefully i will not feel lazy as time pass by. this time i want to work out seriously. aside from the fact that excercise leads to well fitted body i also believes that working out is one way of releasing work stress!!!

Family Dinner at Antipolo

I was so glad to see my mom again! When Anthony and I went to Antipolo to have dinner with my family his father initiates to come with us. That was the first time he saw my family. I'm glad I got to introduced my mom to my future father in-law. =)

It was also a great moment to see my niece and my nephew. Both of them are already grown up.
We had our dinner at Max restaurant in Antipolo. I'm happy when my mom looked like she wants the food we ordered. She even finished her cup of rice with her favorite dish - Sinigang na hipon.

1 week to go and i'm going back to manila! after 10 months of working here in bangkok finally gonna see my mom and will eat dishes that i really miss....
i hope for 2 weeks of staying there I could maximize my time to make some necessary arrangements and give quality time with my mom.

First Beach Trip in Thailand

Anthony and I went at the second to the nearest beach from Bangkok. First nearest beach is in Pattaya which the ambiance is similar to Boracay - crowded,beach party and lots of stores.But for Rayong beach it's the opposite. Very quite, nice place to relax however only few choices of resto - with expensive cuisine(as expected).I remember when I was a child I spent most of my time swimming and playing in the sand during outing.But this time it's getting different because during our stay in the resort, majority of the time we were as SLEEP and aircondition batting!! Can you imagine that we travel 3 hours from bangkok just to Sleep! Hey that was absolutely so called Relax and taking out the feeling from getting burn by the stress.....I hate to admit that even until that time I still dream of my pending job!! wtf!!
About the hotel, what I can say? It's absolutely great! As I expected Novotel got their own ambiance and style. We also enjoyed their breakfast buffet! =)
One weekend is not enough to really enjoy all the activites that the hotel offers. I wish we had long stay but after all we really had a great time! ;)
So long for our next beach trip. Maybe that would be next year..hahahahaha

DAMN HOT SUMMER in thailand

i learned from my thai friends that here in thailand they have 2 kinds of summer season. HOT AND DAMN HOT! oiii extremely true... it seems there's no reason for us not to go to the beach ha! In fact Thailand has many beautiful beaches like Philippines. Don't forget the famous Phuket! Though for now we prefer only 3 hours BUS travel from bkk-rayong beach area. Besides I'm still afraid to go in Phuket. :(

Our summer trip will be on April 7-8, yeah just an overnight stay. I made hotel reservation at Novotel Coralia Rim Pae - http://th-island.com/samet/rimpae/
(novotel? i remember this was my hotel when i was in london last year...:P)
Then hopefully we'll have a chance to see Koh Samet(an island facing rayong beach).
Exciting isn't it!

Since the date falls during Holy week, we'll take this opportunity to give ourselves time to reflect and most importantly to pray. Besides it's hard to reflect if your mind is not relax at all.

3 months from now, Anthony and I will take our two weeks vacation leave in Manila.
We took advantage of cebu pacific airlines promotion which ticket cost is very cheap.
At first I was pissed off by their website because I cannot even book a flight successfully.
Well after million times of attemp finally got my booking confirmation and e-ticket receipt.
It's good to have budget airlines especially for tightfisted like me. :P
Though I miss taking flight in quite expensive airlines like british airways and singapore airlines not to mention the food that they serve and watching TV infront of your seat. I could only have chance of it of course if it will be free of charge trip. hmmm..when could that be???

Can't wait to see my mom and eat pinoy dishes that I can't have it here.
Anthony and I promised to ourselves that we will go and eat at places we miss most like Hap Chang,Little Quiapo etc...

Trip to Malaysia

Well it's better to post late than never... :P

Anthony and I got the chance to spend our weekends at Malaysia! In addition, I saw for the first time the new BKK airport. It looks better now compare from the old airport.

We arrived at KL airport at around 10:15 A.M. Then we travel about an hour from KL airport to KL sentral(KL transportation hub) by Skybus(this is the cheapest way to get there! RM9 - one way).

Since the meeting place is at Petronas twin tower, we took Putra LRT from KL sentral to KL City centre station(RM 1.60 – one way). We checked in at the Capitol hotel around 1 PM.
It was such a great experienced riding the longest cable car trip going to Genting Themepark. Even though we did not have a chance to try the outdoor theme park because of the foggy that gives drizzle weather.
On the next day, we went to see the Eye on Malaysia. The ticket cost RM 15 per head. I enjoyed viewing relaxing scenery from the gondola. After checking out I was able to do some shopping with my remaining pocket money. =) I felt tired after that trip but I had fun travelling with Anthony and seeing my friends there.

Now the question is... Where will be our next trip??? It depends on the budget though.

Health is wealth

I feel better this time unlike last week. Good thing I was able to rest for a day and take my medication. I hate having sickness especially colds because what’s next to it is cough. Errrr… By the way, this situation gave me the chance to use our company insurance. It’s really convenient to use the insurance card the process is very smooth. No need for cash out then for reimbursement and no need to call any person just to have health check up. I’m very thankful to have this kind of health benefit but of course like any other health insurance scheme there is specific amount limitation though I can say ours is a great package. Medicines are also free of charge.

Even though I already have my company health insurance benefit I still continue to pay my personal health insurance in Philam Care. Why? Because life is full of uncertainty, it’s good to have back up in any case.

Nobody wants to get sick right? So do I. Those benefits are there for security reason but I still prefer not to use those and live a healthy life.

Christmas Gift

When we were in the Philippines, Anthony and I kept dreaming of having flat TV. Now I can hardly believe that we already have 32 inch flat screen TV (BENQ).Yahoo!!!! After looking several times in the internet which panel is best to buy we decided to wait more time until 1080p model down its price. For now why not settle for 1080i and HDMI features. Currently all of the 1080p models are very expensive since they are new release model. At first we want Sony model but most of the reviews of this product are not good at all it’s like buying expensive one for under features. Then we found out about Sharp model which is good enough though the model we want is not available here in Bangkok! Wtf!!
So now we finally have our dream flat panel and still looking forward for our sounds system but that would be not in our top priority. We are still aiming to buy laptop because it will be much needed I guess..

Birthday Gift

Lately I’m wondering about the best birthday present that I can give to myself this year. Honestly, I’m not a type of person whose happiness can be found into material thing and I’m not like other girls who are fond of shopping. Well, good for me coz I don’t need to spend much money for that kind of habit.
This time I decided to give myself a rewarding present. I asked my friend arts about what can I do/have for this special day of mine. He said, “SPA”, body scrub or facial scrub. That’s great idea! Later on I realized if I give myself a SPA treatment which cost around 50 bucks and for only less than half a day…. Hmmmm.. Cat, think of something else!

I pondered about this question “What will make me feel happy and Anthony as well?”

The nearest answer is…….. “Weekend trip in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!!!!”

Luckily Air Asia has GoHoliday promotion this week! Book now and fly from January – March 2007. So then our booking flight has already been confirmed. Which means…. heading to KL on January 27-28, 2007. This will also be a get together in KL with my friends whose coming all the way from Singapore.

Well, for my birthday wish…hope we’ll have a great visit in KL! And of course, good health for me, for my famiy and for anthony!

Commonly known as Visual Studio .Net 2005! I've been using .Net 2003 since I graduated from college specifically from my first job up up to now. Attending in MSDN event regarding what’s with the product gives me idea about some new features of Whidbey. Well, that’s not enough for me to learn and say, “The Everett girl is now a Whidbey girl! Hahahaha:P” For me it would be Great to have experience that could gain using the technology itself for delivering business solution. In addition, reading some books could give a plus for learning. Before then my interest in learning the technology’s next version is as thin as my hair strand. Why? Because I thought I’ll need extra time to do some practice labs since it is not in use in my work yet. But then not anymore! This week each of us here start doing the migration of the projects from .Net 2003 to .Net 2005. So does it mean I could take this chance to upgrade my skills? Let’s see. =)

Added to skills upgrade, it means later on I must also do certification upgrade....hmmmm.. wish me luck!!

Last dec. 1, Anthony and I moved to another apartment after 4 months of free accommodation. My goodness! We were both exhausted that day! But then we managed to arrange things accordingly and had time to adjust over the weekend. Our new crib is quite near to our work place which means we’re just going to walk every morning and every night. But if I have a lot of baggage’s I still have an option to ride the motor taxi. Starbucks -Christmas Traditions

Hey you've got it right its all about the planner! At first, I thought I could not collect it anymore because it's only for starbucks phils. Well what a stupid thought! Since starbucks has branches all over the entire planet and why would not have the same tradition here as well. I also had a second thought collecting this one again since it will cost too much money and much caffeine in my body. And besides I found a very nice planner here in Bangkok for only 550 Baht. But then I realized I could be more satisfied owning the tradition planner and what’s more I have it last year why not continue for this year.

About the completion of the stickers, as of today 9 more stickers to go…Hehehehe…That’s too fast you know given that I already started it only last Saturday. I can’t wait to complete the 20 stickers just for me to hand over that planner and start noting my schedule for the next coming year!!! =) btw, Thanks for Anthony for helping me gripping half of the caffeine! :P

Christmas is coming.....

Few weeks from now and it's Christmas time! Holiday season is really fast approaching.. I miss the way filipinos celebrate this wonderful season. In the Philippines by this month I would see christmas decorations all over the streets and each home as well. And of course gift giving won't be miss out. Well, since I'm here in a buddhist country I should not expect to be that way. Buddhist Thai peeps dont celebrate christmas day. But good thing is I've seen in some department stores selling christmas decorations. =) I guess that is for those catholic thai and expats like me who are living here.

For now I'm glad that my friend arts uploaded his christmas songs for me to download and listen with. ;) That would be my simple way to start welcoming the much awaited season...

Stress..gives me animalistic idea

I feel so much stress this week....I'm wondering on what way I could release this unlikely feeling! There's an idea of having pet like puppy.. hmmm.. Still I know having pet is not easy at all. It could be fun at first then later on I'll be piss off with it. Most especially in cleaning *dog shit*. Isn't it I'm really bad here?? And sadly because the reason why I like owning pet is not because I love too.. I guess I should think more about this doggie idea. ;)

weekend discovery

So far these are the places we visited here in BKK.

- The Grand Place - this is the place where I was able to see different temples and the Emerald Buddha. Anthony and I went there by riding a Boat taxi. Yeah! here in Thailand they also use Boat as means of transportation. It cost us 26 Baht each for a round trip. Not bad at all since we passed along more than 6 boat piers to reach our destination.

- Lumpini Night Bazaar - When I saw this place I was astonished by different Thailand unique souvenirs. I thought this is the best place for gift shopping since the price there is cheaper compare to the Mall. The idea is there until I learn about Chatuchak/ JJ Market!

- JJ Market - One of the biggest weekend markets in the world! This place is really breathtaking for me and excellent place to shop. They offer bargain price for both wholesale and retail in all items that you will see. Now I’m really tempted to export such those in the Philippines and make a little income from it. Well I guess I need to look for a business partner who resides in the Phils. Anyone??? Hehehe…

- Pantip Plaza - The Gilmore(New Manila,QC) version here in Bangkok. If you are into gadgets and IT stuff … this place is a must visit for you. and it offers a very reasonable price..;)

We usually spend our weekend in JJ market and in our favorite malls. We still feel lazy to explore more places in and outside Bangkok. Not only for being stingy in money but also we still having fun with our recently discovered place and malls.

About shopping mall, so far we our somewhat addicted in the Siam Paragon Mall. I feel like in heaven every time I go to its food hall which located in the lower ground. There are a lot of food choices and fancy restaurant to eat. That could be the possible reason why I gained weight.. Oh well that’s not the topic… :P
Btw, this is also the mall where you can find the Ocean World here in Bangkok. Well, we still not visited the place yet because of its entrance fee of 400 baht! How stingy!!!!! I rather spend that money in buying food…Just kidding! Maybe for some time we’ll do.

Living a better life.. =)

My lifestyle here in Bangkok is totally different with my lifestyle in the Philippines. Aside from living together with Anthony I have a new set of responsibility not only for myself but for my dear as well. I hate to admit that I was not given a talent in cooking. But I believe it could be taking care of by practicing and to put interest with it. Well sad to say that until now I cant still find my interest in cooking. All I know is to eat and eat.... =( This gives me little insecurity then. Good thing/maybe also a bad thing, is here in Bangkok its hard to find ingredients for filipino dishes and this gives me excuse..shhhhh....

It terms of living lifestyle it do have improvement since now I'm always sleeping with an aircondition room and taking a shower bath (hot/cold) and not "Tabo" bath anymore. We also have plan buying our much awaited dream...a home theatre system and laptop for both of us.
Thats all for now and I dont want to think anymore another things to buy because after we both those items I really want to have a world tour..hehehehe..;) It would be definitely needs a lot of satangs.

Wish is Granted

Well, it's been so long that I haven’t been posting here. I really like to maintain my web blog though I find it hard to visit everyday this site just to say what I feel and what is happening due to my very busy mind. That is why I usually end up stating my day to day endeavors in my personal starbucks planner.

Anyway enough with my excuses! and I have a very important to say which is "My wish was totally granted” And definitely God is really Great because He answered my prayers by giving Anthony a chance to also work here in Bangkok. It was amazing that Anthony and I achieved one of our goals this year which is to get a job outside Philippines, at the same time obtain a well big step in terms of compensation.

Although this granted wish also gave Anthony a hard time to decide whether to pursue his application with Microsoft Phils or to accept the offer here in Bangkok. Not only that, this would definitely change his career path because job in Bangkok totally in focus to software development. But then he decided to work here and to be with me. J For sure he will surely miss giving event talk about MS products that he usually does in the Philippines. Well there is MS Thailand….=)

New work in BKK, Thailand

This would be a great opportunity for my career at the same time I would be able to save money for the future. I could hardly believe that within this year I would be able to work abroad. Thank God for giving me such a blessing.
My flight schedule would be on the end of the month. I'm excited though there is sadness inside my heart. I'm sure homesick and lovesick would stay in me. Oh well that's life. But then that is why I'm praying to God to help my boyfriend to get also a job in BKK. I believe he can make it.
About my itenerary, I need to go to Singapore for 2 nights to get the working Visa in Thai embassy. I made crucial decisions and I should be ready to face all the challenges behind this.
What's important now is Anthony and I have both chances to explore the possibility in life.=)

The never ending phases are about to come! Although I really expect that after the project had been deployed in the production there would be another phase. I really feel the challenge because there are a lot of new features to introduce. But what I hate most is the changes will be deal with InfoPath when it comes to its performance. This office application is really slow when it comes to performance! So for the phase IV, I have to do some magic for this application to improve its performance. Well, the brighter side of the story is I still have a lots of work to do! I hate having idle time, such a waste! =)

At last after all the hardwork and the exciting trip as well, the two projects that I'm involved with will be deploy in the production site by next week.Thank God that me and my team mates had catered all the fixes during the Pre-Production deployment testing.

By now, I should be ready for next week production support.

I had an opportunity to travel at London and Oxford for about 2 weeks. My present job requires me to go there to visit our client for User Acceptance Test of the project im involved with. That was my first time to travel to other country and experience the winter season.

The real hint about this post is the title itself. Though pictures are some what related.

When he told me about this activity I felt sad and envy. Imagine we only meet every weekends and since he needs to attend, this means we wont see each other for that weekends. I told him not to attend but it seems Im selfish if I do force him so. I tried to overcome the selfishness I have. Then I did it and without unnessary argue and quarrel within those days he was in the kick off. I hardly now believe that being selfish is no space in being in love. =) Enjoy the pics.
